Applications
With more than 60,000 in service, Orenco's ProSTEP Effluent Pumping System is a proven, cost-effective solution to the problem of efluent transport in wastewater collection and treatment systems.
Wastewater systems worldwide are benefitting from the reduction of solids provided by Orenco's filter technology. In both septic and dosing tanks, Orenco's patented Biotube Vault Technology filters solids so that only liquid from the "clear zone" between a tank's scum and sludge layers is pumped. This reduces biological loading and clogging of downstream components.
Effluent from the relatively clear zone of the septic tank, between the scum and sludge layers, enters the Biotube Pump Vault through inlet holes in the housing. Effluent then enters the annular space between the housing and the Biotubes, utilizing the Biotube's entire surface for filtering. Particles larger than the Biotube's mesh are prevented from leaving the tank. Currently 1/8" and 1/16" filtration Biotubes are available. Orenco's ProSTEP Effluent Pumping Systems are superior in quality and outlast conventional effluent pumping systems. Constructed of stainless steel, thermoplastic, polyethylene, and fiberglass, they're corrosion-resistant, durable and lightweight.
