Orenco's AdvanTex™-AX Treatment Systems are a patented* innovative technology for onsite treatment of wastewater. The heart of the system is the AdvanTex™-AX filter, a sturdy, watertight fiberglass basin filled with an engineered textile material. This lightweight, highly absorbent textile material treats a tremendous amount of wastewater in a small space.

Orenco's textile filters have been installed throughout the United States on hundreds of sites, including federal demonstration projects, university testing facilities, single-family homes, commercial properties, and community systems. Twelve AX10's were used in modular fashion in Warren, Vermont to provide up to 5,400 gallons per day of treatment.

The treatment train for a typical 3 bedroom home with flows up to 450 gallons per day, would consist of a 1,500 gallon two compartment septic tank, one AdvanTex™-AX10, and the final dispersal field. The space requirements for this type of system are amazingly small, as often the treatment unit will be right on top of the septic tank. In some cases the AX10 filter has been installed above ground with proper insulation and landscaping. These systems are designed to be easy to install. They are shipped with the proper pump, controls, and other components as a complete package - ready to go - with detailed installation instructions.

Like any advanced technology, the AdvanTex™-AX Treatment System should be serviced regularly. AdvanTex™ is easy to service, easy to clean, and generates virtually no troublesome activated sludge. Orenco Systems, Inc. provides a comprehensive, two-year warranty on all components.

The AdvanTex™-AX Treatment System comes with an audible alarm to signal maintenance or high water conditions. And it's sized to allow for a minimum of 24 hours of wastewater storage (at average daily flows). That means an operator can provide service to the system during normal working hours, regardless of when the alarm occurs.

The AdvanTex™-AX System's pumps typically run just 90 minutes per day, so AdvanTex™-AX uses very litter power . . . an average of $4 per month (based on the national average of eight cents per kilowatt hour). Compare that to power costs of up to $20-$60 per month for many "activated sludge" aerobic treatment units.

The following chart gives performance expectations for effluent discharged directly from the textile filter:
AdvanTex™ Mode* BOD5 mg/L TSS mg/L TN mg/L
AX-Mode 1 15 15 25
AX-Mode 3 15 15 10

* The different modes represented here are different configurations of the AdvanTex™-AX Treatment System. The sought after results dictate which mode is to be used.
